In «Queere Tiere», Daniel Hellmann and Coco Schwarz present humorous and surprising stories and songs about sexualities and forms of love and life in the animal kingdom. Based on their personal perspective as queer human animals, they interweave stories of real queer animals and animals from myths and fairy tales.

Every Friday, «duoplus» with Peter Schärli and Sylwia Zytynska invites a guest to a 45-minute concert. This is followed by an aperitif with informal conversation in the Bar du Nord. In April, the saxophonist and improviser Eva-Maria Karbacher joins the duo.

Children and young people present the results of the «Hardware - Software workshop: an interdisciplinary performance in which movement, light and music come together.

The workshop takes place in cooperation with K'Werk Bildschule bis 16, SfG Basel and Musikschule Basel.

Barry John Guy is a British double bass player and composer. As a bassist, he uses various unconventional techniques and is considered one of the most important musical personalities of the English music avant-garde. A discussion with the artist, moderated by saxophonist Marcus Weiss, will round off the evening.

«Co-productions»

This time, the «Ein Haus» lectures will focus on residential buildings that are created in cooperation between architects and highly specific clients. The dialogue-based events focus on the development process, about which architects and co-producers report from their respective perspectives. The selected projects address issues of affordability and the careful use of resources in challenging locations.

Alicja Pilarczyk and José Manuel Albán Juárez devote this evening to phraseological compounds - linguistic phrases consisting of at least two words that are to be understood figuratively and not literally. These compounds often fill gaps in dictionaries and express more than one-word terms.

The 50th anniversary of Hat Hut Records will be celebrated at Gare du Nord as part of the Offbeat Jazz Festival 2025. The Simon Lucaciu Trio and the Marco von Orelli Quartet will transform the concert hall into a jazz stage.

Jazz and classical music meet traditional Turkish music. The Nadav Erlich Septet and Güldeste Mamaç bridge the gaps between the genres, mix the different influences and create a musical synthesis.

The Senegalese griot tradition, represented by Cissokho, merges with the experimental and fascinating sound world of Swiss bassist Martina Berther.

The Marco Mezquida Trio combines Iberian traditions with Latin American rhythms, jazz and classical influences to create a colourful sound. The Matthieu Saglio Quartet combines jazz and flamenco with African sounds as well as Visigothic and Arabic influences.
