Time intersects with timelessness, the electric guitar merges with the Renaissance theorbo, the baroque flute elegantly plays around the warm sound of the bass clarinet and trombone. In between, the piano and harpsichord dialogue with the sometimes grooving, sometimes floating percussion and bass lines, and the melodies of the singing voice are carried by the plaintive pathos of the viola da gamba.
In autumn 2024, the ensemble Kugelförmigkeit will present its new programme «Kugelförmigkeit - Zweite Zeit». Under the direction of composer and singer Francesca Gaza, their compositions skilfully blend elements of contemporary music, experimental jazz, Renaissance and Baroque to create a unique musical language. Consisting of 11 musicians and an unusual combination of instruments, the group presents itself as a versatile ensemble. With subtle musical allusions and experimental approaches, they take their audience on a profound exploration of the spherical nature of time.
