Born on Vancouver Island in Canada, where the rainforest meets the ocean, Andrea grew up among bears, whales and ancient cedars. Her intuitive, poetic songwriting and authentic voice reflect the raw beauty of nature and create a sense of connection at her live shows.

Sisters Nora and Nadine Born share the stage with words, keys and strings. The lyrics and catchy melodies are raw and pure, thoughtful and angry, sometimes light, sometimes heavy, personal and socially critical.

Andrea Samborski
Born on Vancouver Island, Canada's west coast, where rainforest meets the ocean, Andrea grew up amongst bears, whales and ancient cedars, before her life split across continents. It is perhaps a result of her formative years rooted in expansive wilderness, that people have said they can «feel the space» in her songs. Nature - branches, rock, earth and water - weaves its way through her work. The heart at its rawest as well. Her visceral, poetic songwriting, her voicing straight from the marrow, and the palpable sense of connection felt at her live shows highlight Andrea’s work as an artist.
After two decades of playing her songs almost exclusively solo, the past year saw Andrea join forces with Andy Hidber (bass/guitars) and Giacun Schmid (drums/guitars) who also happen to be the luthier dream-team from the Guitar Barn. In the cocoon of that space, surrounded by a myriad of stunningly handcrafted guitars, the three of them have been exploring the songs together, weaving them new nests, furs and feathers. From these sessions, the band project SAMBORSKI was born.
Her solo EP («Before The Walls Fell», recorded in Scotland), she’s made available only physically at her concerts (preferring hand-to-hand delivery in a streaming-soaked world). 2024 marks a new chapter where her songs will finally join the online world with the release of SAMBORSKI’s upcoming EP (though she still wants to share them with you live, warm & in person – so come out!).

Nora & Nadine Born

Nora's first solo album «seachching» was released a few years ago. After that, she wrote many songs that kept flying across the stages. After a musical break, she invited a few guest musicians for the recordings of the second album. One of them was Nadine. This collaboration was so inspiring that they are now performing all the songs together for the live tour «Nur ein Wort». Their creative synergy and deep bond as sisters creates a unique atmosphere that touches and moves.

«Spiel-Bar» offers a wide variety of musical contributions in a relaxed atmosphere at the Bar du Nord. In addition to the musical programme, there will be an opportunity to exchange ideas and to get together in a cosy atmosphere. Admission is free, there will be a collection in favour of the artists.
