The Hungarian clarinettist Boglárka Pecze presents contemporary music as part of the «Dialog» concert series by the Hochschule für Musik Basel FHNW. After the concert, the artist and the saxophonist Marcus Weiss will meet for a talk.
Stage or desk: those who work in the music business have usually chosen a side. Boglárka Pecze is different. The Hungarian is an internationally sought-after clarinettist who has had her finger on the pulse of the new music scene for many years. At the same time, she has found her calling as a cultural manager. It is not the greatest possible density of concerts that appeals to her, but the variety of tasks and perspectives.
Boglárka Pecze has established herself as one of the most exciting young virtuosos on her instrument and performs as a «rising star» in the major concert halls and festivals in Europe, Asia and the USA. As a founding member of the award-winning Trio Catch, she has worked with composers such as Helmut Lachenmann, Isabel Mundry, Georges Aperghis and Beat Furrer.
At the beginning of the 22/23 season, she took over the management of Ensemble Recherche. She is a member of the board of trustees of the Hanne Darboven Foundation and a juror for the composition prize of the state capital Stuttgart. She passes on her knowledge to young musicians at the Nuremberg University of Music.
