The renowned German actor Hannes Hellmann interprets John Cage's «Lecture on nothing», one of the central works of 20th century experimental literature. A conversation with the artist, moderated by saxophonist Marcus Weiss, rounds off the evening.
Hannes Hellmann (*1954) is an actor, musician and radio play narrator. With over 140 film and television works, he is one of the busiest German actors. He was a member of the ensemble at the Theater an der Ruhr for twelve years and worked with directors like Jürgen Flimm and Robert Wilson at the Thalia Theatre in Hamburg until 1989. From 2001-05 Hellmann was part of the ensemble at the Münchner Kammerspiele. Hellmann has also performed at the Salzburg Festival and at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden.
His work as a contemporary musician - he is proficient on guitar, electric and double bass, flute and tenor horn - has taken him to the Darmstadt Music Days, the Venice Biennale and to Vienna, where he performed with Klangforum Wien, ORF Orchestra and Ensemble Modern.
