Presentation holiday workshop «Sound Walk»

Fachgruppe Bild & Ton

Präsentation Ferienworkshop «Sound Walk»

As part of the «Sound Walk» workshop, children and young people present their own audio stories – created from recorded sounds, noises and self-developed narratives. Equipped with headphones, visitors embark on a walk through the rooms of the Gare du Nord and immerse themselves in imaginative worlds of sound between everyday life, fiction and noise art.

The workshop centres on storytelling with sound: What does a story sound like? Which sounds create suspense, humour or atmosphere? The participants experiment with the microphone, record sounds from their surroundings and use them to create their own audio pieces on the computer. This creates very personal soundtracks that tell stories without images.

The «Bild & Ton» workshops offer insights into the combination of artistic and technological forms of expression. Children and young people develop their own works in mostly one-week courses – from the initial idea to practical realisation. In the process, they acquire basic knowledge and skills in areas such as audio production, storytelling, sound design and digital editing.

The workshop is organised in cooperation with K'werk Bildschule and Musikschule Basel.
