Somewhere, not far from here, there is an island. We know it, because we invented it. It's called the «Insel der Freude» («Island of joy»)"Island of Joy" and this is where we want to meet.

The music theatre «Die Insel» is inspired by the opera «Rinaldo und Alcina» by the composer Maria Theresia Paradis. As a blind musician, she caused a sensation 300 years ago - today the music from her opera is lost. Based on the surviving libretto, the group [in]operabilities has created a new, multi-sensory composition of the opera. On the «Insel der Freude», an emotional testing ground for encounters and touch, four characters and their different styles of perception come together. In the company of the audience, they explore the sensuality of communication, struggle for understanding and develop a musicality of shared being. It is about intimacy, paradoxical feelings, the competition between two magicians and the great power of imagination.
