50 Years Hat Hut Records

The 50th anniversary of Hat Hut Records will be celebrated at Gare du Nord as part of the Offbeat Jazz Festival 2025. The Simon Lucaciu Trio and the Marco von Orelli Quartet will transform the concert hall into a jazz stage.

The Simon Lucaciu Trio, consisting of Simon Lucaciu (piano), Florian Müller (double bass) and Lukas Heckers (drums), has been working continuously for eight years on the consideration of improvisation and composition within the framework of a piano trio and has found its own style, sound and artistic identity in the process.

In his artistic work, Marco von Orelli moves in the field of advanced currents in improvisation and jazz music. The focus of his music is closely related to «creative jazz» and composed music in the field of new music, as well as contemporary e-music.
Marco Von Orelli studied classical music with a focus on jazz and completed a master's degree in improvisation at the Basel School of Music. Various interdisciplinary works for dance and theatre projects, as well as an engagement as a circus musician, underline his approach to music.
