La grande bouffe

Echoing Marco Ferreri's film and based on an idea by actress and singer Jeannine Hirzel, the NEC and its instrumentalists-cordons-bleus invite you to an immersive, offbeat meal-show:
audience and artists rub shoulders on stage, enveloped in sounds and flavors, in a festive, intoxicating atmosphere. Directed and set to music by Swiss artist Astride Schlaefli, this original creation explores and diverts numerous stylistic resources from the history of music – from contemporary works to traditional tunes, from ancient music to 1980s pop-rock hits – to tell the story of excess and over-consumption, but also of love and celebration.

It's a fitting way to celebrate the NEC's 30th anniversary.

A sonic surprise menu with certainly creations by Astride Schlaefli (*1978), as well as pieces by Anna Trauffer, Rudolph Kelterborn, Johann Sebastian Bach, György Kurtág, The Beach Boys, John Cage, Franz Schubert and others...

Food will be served to the audience during the concert. Drinks can be purchased at the bar.

The concert will be followed by a discussion with the audience.
