Improvisations

The sound world of French artist ErikM draws from a universe of experiences and influences ranging from his early work with post-musical concrete compositions or with musicians such as Michel Doneda to the more composition-based improvisation of Luc Ferrari and his more rigorous approach to composing for classical ensembles. It is a complementary search and discovery that connects the musicians of Ensemble This I Ensemble That - part percussionists, part hybrid musicians - with ErikM's playful yet provocative approach. Their improvisations open the doors of musical perception and push the listener towards a familiar yet unheard nuance in sound and musical relationship.
