«duoplus» & Guests– Silke Strahl

«duoplus» & Silke Strahl

Once a month on Fridays, «duoplus», led by Peter Schärli and Sylwia Zytynska, invites a guest to a 45-minute concert. With the music, «duoplus» responds to the location and seeks dialogue with the audience: the entertaining concert is followed by the second half, an aperitif with informal conversation with the audience in the wonderful rooms of the Bar du Nord. In June, saxophonist Silke Strahl is invited to join the duo.

Saxophonist Silke Strahl (*1988) is active in various ensembles with which she premieres contemporary works or realises interdisciplinary projects. One focus of her work is free improvisation. With «Duo Klexs», she won second prize at the Concours Nicati in 2019 and the Edwin Fischer Recognition Prize and the Lucerne Festival's «Soundzz.z.zzz...z-Wettbewerb» in 2016.

Sylwia Zytynska (*1963) was born in Warsaw and studied percussion in Poland and Switzerland. She was interested in music, new music, improvisation, music theatre, but also in music lessons and artistic work with children and young people. In her almost forty years in Switzerland, this has moulded her into an authentic artistic personality.

Peter Schärli (*1955) began playing the trumpet at the age of ten and graduated from the Swiss Jazz School in Bern. He has worked as a professional musician and composer for theatre music since 1978 and has performed with various artists and bands in various formations and styles in Switzerland and abroad. He taught at the Lucerne School of Music for 40 years.

The concert will take place in the Bar du Nord.
