«Wetterleuchten» is a linear flickering of the atmosphere during an electrical discharge on the nocturnal horizon and that is the programme of the scenic concert at the Gare des Enfants.
A series of compositions in a wide range of shades gives rise to a dream-like series of dramatic, cheerful and serious scenes of encounters between nature-loving creatures and baroque pomposity, touching on fundamental existential questions: it's a matter of life and death!
The recorder ensembles of the music school, complemented by accordion and baroque trombone, perform as a versatile, vibrant ensemble and show their instruments from many different perspectives.
The «godfather» of the concert is Hans-Jürg Meier, who lends his name to the concert with his suite «Wetterleuchten». In addition to compositions by Meier, other gems from the rich palette of the very latest music will be heard, along with works by Bach and Purcell.
