Duo Signal
Duo Signal presents «a doctrine of similarity», the result of a close collaboration with two of the most interesting voices on the contemporary music scene: Luis Codera Puzo and Hunjoo Jung. Uncompromising in their aesthetics and musical vision, they have explored the possibilities of the duo and bring powerful and visionary music to the stage.
In «Summa», Puzo (Ernst von Siemens Prize 2014) radically explores the sobriety of the material and the refusal to accumulate ideas. It is an extreme concentration on the idea of unity, in which the smallest change is treated as a major musical event. It is the exploration of the pure basis of music.
«The Uncanny Valley...» is the result of a compositional residency in which Jung uses live electronics to explore the uncanny similarities between seemingly antagonistic realms: Acoustic vs. electronic, physical limitations vs. the limitlessness of the electronic realm. This piece is a sensory experience that confronts the audience with the paradox of facing an artificial replica - a question that is once again topical in light of the development of artificial intelligence.

4tet Laboratoire
In «COL/LAB», 4tet Laboratoire pursues the goal of creating an experimental laboratory, a space for something new, through collaboration. To this end, compositions were specially commissioned to produce a repertoire that is unusual for this formation.
The composers have a wide variety of backgrounds; Simon Bahr, for example, deals with sonic and non-sonic found objects from the internet, but also brings a background as a philosopher and musicologist. Aya Metwalli combines the tradition of Arabic music with contemporary music and has experience with literature, theatre and dance. Juliana Santacruz is influenced by South American music and thus has a broader perspective on new classical music in Europe. Christian Spitzenstaetter often combines the world of jazz with classical music in his works. All four composers are also active on stage as performers. This selection was deliberately made so that the roles of composer and performer are mixed and both sides inspire each other.
