Sendecki & Spiegel
Poetry meets dynamics, virtuosity meets delicate dialogue. The instrumentation of piano and percussion is extraordinary: sometimes powerfully dynamic, sometimes emotionally tender, Vladyslav Sendecki and Jürgen Spiegel conduct an empathic dialogue between piano and percussion. Born in 1955, Sendecki has played with stars such as Klaus Doldinger, the Brecker Brothers and Jaco Pastorius. For more than 20 years, he was the pianist of the NDR Big Band, one of the outstanding large ensembles of contemporary jazz. Sendecki's exalted, powerful piano playing clearly shows that he appreciates the freedom of the duo line-up. Drummer Jürgen Spiegel, on the other hand, is the pulsating heartbeat that lays an ideal rhythmic and sound-painting foundation for his partner. Together they make the music breathe and the audience enjoy it.
Vincent Meissner Trio
Unbridled playfulness of complex forms and rhythms meet a great desire for experimentation and a remarkable sense for unusual melodies that stick in the memory.
The young pianist Vincent Meissner (*2000) is considered one of the most promising up-and-coming talents on the German jazz scene. He is a seeker and discoverer who also enjoys delving into contemporary piano music. He has been studying with Michael Wollny in Leipzig since 2019.
In his still young career, he has already received numerous awards: in 2018, he received 1st place at the «Bechstein Piano Competition» in Berlin in addition to a 1st prize at «Jugend Jazzt Solo». With his trio he was awarded the «Concert Prize of Jazzopen Stuttgart» and the «Promotional Prize of the German Jazz Union». At the beginning of 2020, his trio also received the «Mitteldeutsche Jazzpreis», which was awarded for the first time, and in September of this year he won first place at the «International Jazzhaus Piano Competition» in Freiburg.
