An unexpected encounter by night, moving between dream and reality. Sounds, word, contours emerge from the darkness. They shine as milestones on a tightrope walk between violence and sophistication, deadly threat and lust for life. Based on texts and music from around 1650, reflected in new forms. The central axis of the piece is music from around 1650, which sounds both in the realization of the musical text and in a permanent twist and turn, deconstruction and transformation of the same with compositional and improvisational means. With compositions by Kapsberger, Cazzati, Biber and others as well as improvisations by the ensemble.
Francesco Giusti (countertenor); Nick Dietrich (drama); Matthias Klenota, Eva Saladin (violin); Marc Pauchard (cornett); Giovanna Baviera (viola da Gamba); Rui Staehelin (theorbo); Mirjam Scheerer (costume); Matthias Klenota (concept, direction, stage)
With works by Giovanni Girolamo Kapsberger (1580-1651), Domenico Mazzocchi (1592-1662), Heinrich Biber (1644-1704), as well as compositions by Matthias Klenota (*1987) and improvisations by the ensemble.
