«MICMAC 3D» is a one-hour musical and scenic work composed by the two ensemble members Julien Mégroz and Kevin Juillerat in collaboration with the artist and set designer Benoît Renaudin.
This new piece has a strong performative character and is conceived for a very specific installation in three dimensions. The four ordinary instruments of the musicians (harp, accordion, saxophone and percussion) are multiplied tenfold on two further levels, one microscopic and one macroscopic.
A first row of toy instruments consisting of miniature replicas of the quartet's instruments. In the second row, the usual instruments of the quartet's basic line-up. And in the third tier, four huge instruments interlocked with each other. A large and fascinating musical machine!
